Mount Uhud
mount Uhud is a historically significant mountain located about 5 kilometres north of Medina, best known as the site of the Battle of Uhud, which took place in 3 Hijrah (625)... this battle saw 700 Muslim warriors, led by Rasulullah SAW, face an army of 3,000 Quraysh from Mecca... initially, the Muslims were gaining the upper hand, but the situation changed when a group of archers stationed by Rasulullah SAW on the slopes of the mount left their positions without permission, believing the battle had ended... this allowed a cavalry attack led by Khalid ibn al‑Walid (before he accepted Islam), resulting in heavy Muslim losses... many companions were martyred, including Hamzah ibn Abdul Muttalib RA, the beloved uncle of Rasulullah SAW, and Rasulullah SAW himself was injured... despite the hardship, the battle offered profound lessons on obedience, discipline, sacrifice, and trust in Allah SWT... Rasulullah SAW later said, Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it (Ṣaḥiḥ al‑Bukhari), highlighting its spiritual significance... today, mount Uhud stands as a powerful reminder of faith, resilience, and the deep historical legacy of early Islam...
