Aidilfitri 2020 - MCO

we performed the Aidilfitri prayer at home, and I had the opportunity to deliver the sermon to my family using the official text provided by JAIS, focused on the spirit of gratitude, patience, and resilience in facing the challenges brought by the COVID‑19 pandemic... it reminded Muslims that although Aidilfitri was celebrated differently due to restrictions and health concerns, the true essence of the celebration lies in faith, obedience to Allah SWT, and care for the well‑being of others... the sermon emphasized the importance of maintaining unity, following guidance from religious and national authorities, strengthening family ties at home, and continuing acts of worship and good deeds as a sign of gratitude for Allah SWT’s mercy and protection during difficult times... although the celebration was simple and different from previous years, the moment was meaningful and spiritually fulfilling... it allowed us to reflect on the messages of gratitude, patience, and obedience to Allah SWT, while strengthening family bonds and appreciating the essence of Aidilfitri within our own home...

Before... Now... MCO

previously, we lacked confidence and courage to become an imam... we was afraid of making mistakes when calling the azan, and we hesitated to read the Al-Quran for fear of mispronouncing the verses...

during the Movement Control Order, we made use of the time to learn, practise, and improve ourselves, and through this process, we gradually gained confidence...

today, we are no longer afraid to lead prayers, we are confident in calling the azan, and we are able to read the Al-Quran complete with understanding its translation... Allah SWT truly loves His servants... we are now able to perform acts of worship that once felt unfamiliar and difficult to us...

may Allah SWT accept our prayers, our fasting, our zakat fitrah, our remembrance, and all our good deeds... may He forgive our sins and the sins of our parents, and may He allow us to become better than we were before... this world is only a temporary stop, and may the provisions we prepare be sufficient for us in the hereafter...

Happy Teacher’s Day

from kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school, the punishments I received became some of the greatest lessons that shaped my mischievous behaviour into discipline... I am deeply proud of my teachers who taught me not only academic knowledge, but also how to become a better human being... during my religious education, I was able to understand faith and values through the guidance of ustaz, tok guru, and habib... in learning self‑defence, I was taught the importance of self‑discipline, for which I am truly grateful to my teachers... at the higher education level, I gained a deeper understanding of life itself - thank you to all lecturers and professors who guided me along the way... during my working years, I learned the realities of professional life, and for that, I thank everyone who shared their knowledge and experience with me... I must not forget my Walid and my late Mak, who are truly my first teachers, continuously educating and guiding me from childhood until today... I pray that all my teachers are blessed with good health, long life, and abundant sustenance, and for those who have passed away, may they be granted a place in Jannah...

Concern

we can now see that many people have become more aware and concerned about performing prayers, whether at the mosque or the surau... if attending congregational prayers is not yet possible, this period can be seen as a valuable opportunity to purify and improve ourselves by praying at home with our families... consider it a learning process - those who were once afraid to lead prayers have begun to gain confidence, are able to recite surahs, revise the correct methods of prayer, and practise what they have learned... this is truly a positive development... let us be patient, and when the situation has fully improved, let us return together to performing congregational prayers at the mosque or surau, especially for men... let us also ensure that our concern does not fade once this period ends, leaving mosques and suraus quiet again while awareness exists only on social media... may this sense of responsibility continue, so that mosques and suraus remain filled with worshippers at all times...
