Role Play - Interview

today's tutorial activity focused on conducting an interview session, where each group was given the opportunity to play different roles, namely as the interviewee, interviewer, and human resource manager... the activity was designed to provide students with practical experience in the recruitment and selection process commonly used by organizations... three groups acted as job applicants with different educational backgrounds and work experiences... group 1 represented a candidate who possessed only an SPM qualification but had extensive and relevant work experience... group 2 portrayed a candidate with a Diploma qualification and part-time working experience gained while studying... meanwhile, group 3 represented a candidate with excellent Diploma results but no prior work experience... during the role-play session, the interviewers were responsible for asking questions related to the job position, qualifications, skills, and personal attributes, while the interviewees responded as realistically as possible based on their assigned profiles... at the end of each interview, the Human Resource Manager evaluated the candidate's performance, assessed their suitability for the position, and provided a final decision on whether the candidate should be offered employment with the company... this activity allowed students to develop their communication, critical thinking, decision-making, and interviewing skills while gaining a better understanding of how recruitment decisions are made in real workplace settings...

Heart Rate

heart rate is the number of times the heart beats in one minute and is measured in beats per minute (bpm)... it is an important indicator of cardiovascular health, physical fitness, and exercise intensity... the simplest way to calculate heart rate is by checking the pulse at the wrist or neck and counting the number of beats for a specific period... during exercise, heart rate is commonly used to determine whether a person is training at a light, moderate, or vigorous intensity... for most adults, a normal resting heart rate ranges from 60 to 100 bpm, while well-trained athletes may have resting heart rates between 40 and 60 bpm due to greater cardiovascular efficiency... during brisk walking, heart rates commonly range between 90 and 130 bpm, depending on age and fitness level... monitoring heart rate regularly can help individuals exercise safely, track improvements in fitness, manage weight, and maintain good heart health... for those with conditions such as coronary artery disease, diabetes, or hypertension, heart rate monitoring is especially useful for ensuring that exercise remains within a safe and effective range prescribed by their healthcare provider...

Nasi Arab Pakistan D' Jempol

the Form 5 boys’ dormitory students were recently treated to a special meal outing organized by their class teacher at Nasi Arab Pakistan (Ta'am Katering), located at the Bandar Seri Jempol Food Court... the gathering was attended not only by the students but also by the dormitory wardens and the Student Affairs (HEM), making it a meaningful and memorable occasion for everyone involved... the event provided an opportunity for the students and staff to interact in a more relaxed and friendly environment outside the classroom and hostel setting... while enjoying the restaurant’s popular Pakistani-style Arabic cuisine, students were able to strengthen their bonds with one another and build closer relationships with their teachers and wardens... such activities play an important role in fostering teamwork, mutual respect, and a sense of community among students, especially as they prepare for their upcoming SPM examinations... the outing served as both a reward for their dedication and a source of motivation to continue striving for academic excellence...

Tim Hortons

after enjoying our hi-tea buffet lunch, we headed to AEON Shah Alam... while waiting for Naja to do some shopping, I decided to relax for a while at Tim Hortons... as usual, my drink of choice was an Iced Americano, which I find refreshing, smooth, and reasonably priced compared to many other coffee chains... Tim Hortons is a popular Canadian coffeehouse and restaurant chain that is well known for its freshly brewed coffee, baked goods, breakfast items, and light meals... the brand has built a strong reputation for offering quality food and beverages at affordable prices, making it a favorite spot for casual meetups, coffee breaks, and quick meals... some of its best-selling and most iconic menu items include its Original Blend Coffee, the famous Double Double coffee, Iced Capp, Timbits (bite-sized donut balls), and classic donuts such as the Apple Fritter and Boston Cream Donut... the chain is also known for breakfast selections such as wraps, sandwiches, and bagels... with its comfortable atmosphere, reliable coffee, and value-for-money offerings, Tim Hortons continues to attract coffee lovers looking for a relaxing place to unwind, just as I did while waiting for Naja to finish her shopping...

Royale Songket Restaurant

initially, we planned to enjoy the Dim Sum Buffet at Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant, Mardhiyyah Hotel Shah Alam, as the restaurant is halal-certified and was offering a promotional rate of RM69 nett per person... coincidentally, I was informed that two of my former students, Ibrahim and Rizal, are currently working there... I reached out to them and asked if they could help make a reservation for us... unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked, and there were no available seats at all, even though there were only two of us...

however, what seemed like a disappointment turned into a pleasant surprise... Ibrahim kindly invited us to have hi-tea lunch at Royale Songket Restaurant, and to my amazement, he insisted that we did not need to pay for the meal... he graciously treated us in conjunction with my birthday yesterday... this is truly what we call a blessing that comes unexpectedly... I am sincerely grateful to both of them for their generosity and thoughtfulness...

Ibrahim was previously my student at TPC, while Rizal was from SDCC... both are currently under the Sime Darby Group, and it is evident that they have gained valuable experience and expertise in the food and beverage industry... their professionalism and hospitality were clearly reflected in the excellent service we received... the food at Royale Songket Restaurant was delicious and exceeded our expectations... the entire experience made for a memorable afternoon... perhaps one day in the future, I will return and finally get the opportunity to try the famous Dim Sum Buffet as well... thank you once again, Ibrahim and Rizal, for making the day so special and memorable...

Lower Back Exercises

this workout is excellent for improving lower back health, core stability, posture, and overall mobility... It consists of 4 effective exercises: Bird Dogs, Half-Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch, Glute Bridge, and Cat-Cow, which work together to strengthen the muscles that support the spine while reducing stiffness and discomfort in the lower back... the Bird Dog is a stability exercise that strengthens the lower back, core, glutes, and shoulders by requiring controlled movement of opposite arms and legs while maintaining a neutral spine... the Half-Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch helps relieve tightness in the hip flexors, which is a common contributor to lower back pain, especially among individuals who spend long hours sitting... the Glute Bridge targets the glutes, hamstrings, and lower back muscles, helping to improve hip strength and reduce excessive strain on the lumbar spine... meanwhile, the Cat-Cow is a gentle mobility exercise that involves alternating between spinal flexion and extension, promoting flexibility, improving spinal movement, and reducing tension in the back and neck... when performed regularly with proper technique, these 4 exercises can help strengthen the muscles that support the lower back, improve posture, increase flexibility, and reduce the risk of lower back discomfort and injury...
