the UNITAR Staff Club (USC) organized a Ramadhan tazkirah delivered by Ustaz Mohd Noor Derus... the key message drawn from today’s theme was the importance of truly understanding the meaning of the Al-Quran... from a young age, we are taught to recite Iqra’ to recognize words and pronounce them correctly according to tajwid, followed by completing the recitation of the Al-Quran - repeating this practice throughout our lives, especially during Ramadhan when many strive to complete a full reading... however, one essential element is often overlooked: understanding its meaning... it is therefore encouraged that we begin reading the Al-Quran together with tafsir, so that we may comprehend its message and feel the true beauty and depth of its guidance... it is never too late to start... learning the Arabic language is highly beneficial, yet referring to tafsir remains crucial, as the profound meanings of the Al-Quran have been carefully explained and preserved by great scholars of the past...
