Food Hunting

with only Azim at home today, Abyana joined us in heading out to look for food for iftar... our first stop, without a doubt, was Murtabak Rose... to our pleasant surprise, I discovered that an old friend was running the stall near the stadium, close to the Bazaar... this was a childhood friend from Taman Jaya, whom I’ve known since we were young - fondly known as Mat or Yen... it had been such a long time since we last met; we’re the same age and once part of the same mischievous group, which brought plenty of laughter and nostalgia... we ended up buying 4 packs straight away... our next stop was, of course, Nasi Royale - and although Alor Setar has many branches, we chose the one at Anak Bukit... Nasi Royale was actually chosen at Azim’s own request, as it has always been one of his favourite meals whenever we return to Alor Setar... we bought 4 packs to make sure everyone was satisfied... for drinks and local kuih, we stopped along Jalan Sultanah, right next to the Caltex station on Jalan Sultanah Bahiyah... after that, we continued on to Taman Mutiara to collect our pre‑order of Rendang Ayam, completing our little food‑hunting mission for iftar with everyone’s favourites in hand...
