our next journey involved crossing the Mekong river to Coconut island, travelling by a private boat specially arranged for our group... upon arrival, we were introduced to the traditional production processes carried out by the local community, where we observed how simple, manual tools are used from the very beginning of production through to the final products... the island is well known for its coconut‑based products, including coconut candy, coconut oil, and other local delicacies, all produced using methods passed down through generations... in addition to food products, the locals also sell a variety of handicrafts made from natural materials...
one particularly eye‑catching item was snake wine, a traditional infusion displayed in glass bottles... according to local belief, this wine is valued for its health benefits, commonly said to help refresh the body and enhance vitality, especially among men... the visit offered a fascinating insight into the rural economy, traditional craftsmanship, and cultural practices that form an important part of life along the Mekong Delta...
