Pho Muslim

Jamiul Islamiah mosque, built in 1950, stands as an important place of worship and a symbol of the Muslim community’s long‑standing presence in the area... since its establishment, the mosque has played a central role not only as a venue for daily prayers but also as a hub for religious activities, community gatherings, and Islamic learning... in response to the growing needs of worshippers and changing times, the mosque has undergone 2 major renovation phases, first in 1980 and most recently in 2023... these upgrades were carried out to improve facilities, expand capacity, and enhance comfort while preserving the mosque’s original identity and spiritual significance... today, the mosque continues to serve the community actively, reflecting both its historical roots and its ongoing relevance in supporting religious life across generations...

as we wanted to try breakfast at this place, which many travelers have mentioned as a popular spot among tourists, we decided to book a Grab as the distance from our hotel was about 2.4 kilometres, equivalent to roughly 35 minutes on foot... Pho Muslim operates daily from 6:30 am to 11:30 am and is well known among Muslim visitors to Ho Chi Minh City... the restaurant is located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, behind the mosque, within reasonable distance from central hotels and frequently visited by Malaysian and Indonesian tourists... it specializes in halal Vietnamese cuisine, with its signature dish being halal beef pho, served with a clear yet flavourful broth, soft rice noodles, tender beef slices, and fresh herbs... other popular breakfast items include fried rice, omelette dishes, spring rolls, and Vietnamese-style soups, making it a satisfying and Muslim‑friendly breakfast stop before starting the day’s activities...

the menu here does not really highlight any specific house specialty, so we went with the usual beef option... as with any food experience, taste is subjective, and everyone will have their own preference... from my honest point of view, I was satisfied with the meal - the flavours were good, comforting, and enjoyable... however, when making a comparison, Pho Halal Rahim still remains my top choice, as it left a stronger overall impression in terms of taste and satisfaction... nonetheless, this place is certainly worth trying, especially for those who enjoy exploring different halal dining options while travelling...
