Cong Ca Phe

The cafe is located about 1.6 kilometres from the post office (around 22 minutes on foot), so we chose to take a Grab to get there... it operates daily from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm and was founded in 2007 by Linh Dung, a performance artist who drew inspiration from his childhood memories and Vietnamese cultural heritage, particularly the aesthetics of the post‑war era... today, the brand has grown significantly, with more than 80 branches worldwide, including outlets in Malaysia and South Korea... the cafe is commonly found in District 1, making it easily accessible to tourists... it is best known for its signature coconut coffee (ca phe dua) - a rich, strong Vietnamese coffee topped with creamy coconut foam that creates a unique balance of bitterness and sweetness... other popular items include Vietnamese black coffee, condensed‑milk coffee, and traditional local drinks, all served in a setting decorated with nostalgic military‑era elements, wooden furniture, and retro posters, offering visitors not just a drink but a distinctive cultural experience rooted in Vietnam’s history...

one of the main attractions of it is its strategic location directly facing the iconic Tan Dinh Church, also famously known as the Pink Church, which was built on 16 December 1876 during the French colonial period... the striking pastel‑pink facade of the church has made it one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most photographed landmarks and a favourite stop for tourists... from the cafe, especially at the second‑floor balcony, visitors are treated to a clear and picturesque view of the church, making it a popular photo spot for both local patrons and international travelers... many guests choose to sit or stand along the balcony railings to capture memorable photos that blend the cafe’s nostalgic Vietnamese atmosphere with the unique colonial architecture of the Pink Church...
