Pho Halal Rahim

Al‑Rahim mosque is a historically significant mosque and is recognized as the oldest mosque in the area, having been established in 1885... the mosque was built by early Muslim settlers, particularly from the Malay communities of Malaysia and Indonesia, who were actively involved in trade and settlement in the region at the time... it has long served as a centre for worship, community gatherings, and Islamic learning, reflecting the deep roots of Islam among the Malay and Nusantara communities in the area... despite its age, the mosque continues to function actively today, preserving its historical identity while undergoing necessary improvements to accommodate worshippers and visitors... its proximity to tourist areas also makes it an important landmark, symbolizing the enduring presence of Islam and the close cultural ties between Malaysia and Indonesia in this part of Vietnam... 

as we were already tired from walking throughout the day, we decided to book a Grab to the restaurant, even though it is actually only about a 15‑minute walk from the hotel... Pho Halal Rahim has become a popular spot among tourists, especially after gaining attention on TikTok, and operates daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm... it is conveniently located beside Al Rahim mosque in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, making it a favourite dining choice for Muslim travelers after prayers... the restaurant specializes in halal Vietnamese cuisine, with its signature dish being halal beef pho, served with clear, aromatic broth, tender beef slices, rice noodles, and fresh herbs... other popular offerings include fried rice, spring rolls, and Vietnamese-style grilled dishes, all prepared to suit halal requirements... its strategic location, Muslim‑friendly menu, and comforting food make it a must‑visit dining stop for us visiting Ho Chi Minh City...

everyone has different tastes, but speaking honestly from my own experience, the food was truly excellent... I enjoy spicy flavours, and the dishes here suited my palate perfectly - rich, bold, and satisfying - especially when paired with a refreshing iced tea, which complemented the meal very well... to make the moment even better, rain began to fall just as we arrived, creating a cool and calming atmosphere that somehow made the food taste even more enjoyable... after finishing our meal, we took the opportunity to perform jamak prayers for Maghrib and Isya at the mosque, bringing a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling close to the day after a long but rewarding journey...
