Interview Session with Dato' Lembaga Luak Jempol

Jempol is a district in Negeri Sembilan with a history closely linked to early settlement, agriculture, and regional development in central Peninsular Malaysia... originally covered by dense forests and rural settlements, Jempol gradually developed as people moved inland in search of fertile land for farming, particularly rubber and oil palm cultivation... over time, improved infrastructure and government development initiatives transformed Jempol into an important agricultural and residential area, while still retaining its rural character and strong community values that reflect the heritage of Negeri Sembilan...

located along the eastern border of the state, Jempol connected Negeri Sembilan with neighbouring states such as Pahang and Johor, supporting migration, transportation, and economic linkages... the district became a major focus for agricultural expansion, particularly rubber and oil palm cultivation, and later for government land development schemes such as FELDA, which helped resettle rural communities and improve livelihoods... through these roles, Jempol contributed significantly to balancing urban and rural development in Negeri Sembilan while preserving the state’s agricultural strength and rural heritage...
