X50 Service 110K

the 110,000 km scheduled service was carried out at LonG Puncak Alam... I sent the car in as early as 8:30 am and made productive use of the waiting time by conducting my online class in the discussion room provided at the service centre... the total service cost came to RM904.12, including RM18.24 in service tax... several essential maintenance items were replaced to ensure the vehicle continued to perform efficiently and reliably... these included the Drain Plug (RM5.26), which helps prevent engine oil leakage during oil changes; the Air Filter (RM68.32), which ensures clean air enters the engine for optimal combustion; Proton Genuine 5W30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil (RM194.00), which provides superior lubrication and engine protection; and the Oil Filter Element (RM50.25), which removes contaminants from the engine oil... additional items used during the service were the Fuel System Cleaner (RM30.00) to help maintain fuel system efficiency and the Windshield Cleaner (RM2.00) to improve visibility...

for this service interval, 2 major components were also replaced: the Timing Belt (RM195.16) and the Belt Tensioner/Beltfead (RM112.89)... the timing belt is a critical engine component responsible for synchronizing the movement of the crankshaft and camshaft, ensuring that the engine valves open and close at the correct time... replacing it at the recommended interval helps prevent serious engine damage that could result from belt failure... meanwhile, the belt tensioner maintains the correct tension on the timing belt, ensuring smooth and reliable operation while reducing wear on related components... the labour charge amounted to RM246.24, including service tax, reflecting the skilled work required, particularly for the replacement of these major components... overall, this comprehensive service helps maintain the vehicle's performance, reliability, fuel efficiency, and long-term durability...
