My Research Proposal vs My PhD Thesis

A research proposal and a PhD thesis represent 2 different stages of the doctoral journey... a research proposal is a preliminary document prepared before the actual research begins... it outlines the intended area of study, identifies the research problem, presents the objectives and research questions, reviews relevant literature, and describes the proposed methodology... its primary purpose is to justify the significance, feasibility, and originality of the proposed study and to obtain approval from supervisors and the university... in contrast, a PhD thesis is the final and comprehensive document submitted upon completion of the research... it presents the entire research process, including an in-depth literature review, detailed methodology, data analysis, findings, discussion, conclusions, and contributions to knowledge... while the research proposal focuses on what the researcher plans to do, the PhD thesis demonstrates what was actually done, what was discovered, and how the findings contribute to the academic field... in simple terms, the research proposal is the blueprint of the study, whereas the PhD thesis is the completed product that showcases the outcomes and scholarly contributions of the research...
