I sent X50 to the Proton service centre Kelana Jaya on Tuesday morning, and the installation of all warranty replacement parts was completed today... during the repair period, I was provided with a Proton Iriz as a courtesy vehicle for my daily commute between home and work, which greatly helped minimize any inconvenience... based on the service documents, the total value of the parts replaced under warranty amounted to RM7,688.82... fortunately, since these components were covered under Proton's warranty programme, I only had to pay RM43.20, including service tax, for the wheel alignment service after the repairs were completed...
looking back, this was truly a blessing, as several major components required replacement, including suspension, steering, drivetrain, and electrical-related parts... had these repairs been carried out outside the warranty period, the cost would have been substantial... therefore, my advice to Proton owners is that if your vehicle warranty is nearing its expiry date, it is worthwhile to request a thorough inspection from the service centre, especially for components that are covered under the warranty... any abnormal noises, vibrations, steering issues, suspension concerns, or unusual vehicle behaviour should be reported and checked before the warranty expires... in my case, the inspection revealed multiple components that genuinely required replacement, allowing me to benefit from the warranty coverage and ensuring that the vehicle is now in much better condition... this experience serves as a reminder that making full use of the manufacturer's warranty can result in significant savings and improved vehicle reliability in the long run...
