Bukit Terisek

Bukit Terisek is a well‑known hiking and viewpoint destination located within Taman Negara National Park, Pahang, approximately 2 kilometres from the park headquarters at Kuala Tahan... rising to about 334 metres above sea level, it is considered one of the most accessible hills in Taman Negara, making it suitable for us... the trail is largely made up of wooden boardwalks, steps, and forest paths, with a gentle to moderate incline that typically takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours round trip, depending on pace and weather conditions...

at the top of Bukit Terisek, there are 2 main viewing points - one overlooking the Sungai Tembeling and the other facing Gunung Tahan, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding rainforest... entry into the park requires a permit, and we may choose either to hike with a licensed tour guide or independently... we opted to go with a guide, Din, fondly known as Pak Long, whose experience, guidance and friendly manner made the journey both safe and enriching... the hike itself demanded mental focus and physical endurance; during the ascent, the thigh muscles were heavily engaged, while the descent placed more strain on the calf muscles... it was a truly sweat‑inducing experience, but immensely rewarding... we began our hike from the jetty at 9:30 am and completed the loop, returning to the jetty by 12:30 pm... overall, it was a memorable and unforgettable experience, filled with challenge, camaraderie, and a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty...
