Respiration in Microorganisms

for Abyana’s Science lesson, an experiment was carried out to investigate whether microorganisms can breathe... during the first 10 minutes, the balloon measured 14 cm... after the next 10 minutes, the balloon expanded to 25 cm, and in the final 10 minutes, it grew further to 35 cm... this gradual increase in the size of the balloon shows that gas was continuously produced during the experiment... from this observation, it can be concluded that microorganisms do respire, and the gas released during respiration caused the balloon to inflate...
