visiting Habib Agil bin Abd Kadir bin Umar Baraqbah at 8 Ilir Pasar Kuto... he is a respected Islamic scholar and preacher known for his active da‘wah work in Palembang and across Indonesia and Malaysia... having pursued his early education in Palembang before continuing advanced studies at Pondok Pesantren Darul Tauhid in Malang and later at Darul Mustafa in Tarim, Yemen, under the guidance of renowned scholar Habib Umar bin Hafidz, he has become a prominent voice in religious gatherings and community events... In Palembang, he frequently delivers lectures, leads religious programs, and participates in major Islamic commemorations, reflecting his commitment to continuing the prophetic mission and nurturing spiritual growth within the community...


Al‑Habib Pangeran Syarif Gasim bin Ali bin Husin Baraqbah is recognized as one of the prominent noblemen and warriors of the Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam, whose lineage traces back to the noble Baraqbah family of the Ba‘Alawi sayyids... born in Palembang around 1785, he was deeply integrated into the political and religious fabric of the sultanate, notably becoming a son‑in‑law of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II... known for his bravery and strategic skill, Syarif Gasim served as a military commander who defended Palembang’s sovereignty during periods of conflict with Dutch colonial forces... his legacy as a devout, courageous, and respected figure remains preserved at his grave in Kawah Tengkurep, a historic royal cemetery that continues to attract visitors and pilgrims...
