10‑Second Wrap‑Up

a 30‑minute statement, but only 10 seconds are highlighted as the summary... that is how some parts of the press operate... they publish news based on their own interpretation, even when they themselves are unsure about its accuracy... not all press are like this, of course, but when a few behave in such a way, it becomes a case of one drop of dye spoils the whole pot of milk... these are the traits of misinformation spreaders in these challenging times... the circulation of unverified news can lead to unwanted consequences... to be honest, I read the news - but trusting it is another matter entirely, because too often the fiction outweighs the facts...

The Swelling has Subsided

Alhamdulillah, the swelling has gradually gone down... I can finally see the veins on my foot again, although there is still a slight throbbing pain at the tip... this is the effect of soaking my foot in warm water mixed with Epsom salt and apple cider - part of the long healing process for a torn ligament... even so, I’m grateful and relieved that I can finally perform prayer without needing a chair... it’s true, prayer never feels complete when we cannot prostrate... Allahu Akbar...

Resting

it was a quiet and restful day at home, the perfect time to give my aching foot a much‑needed break... with a bowl of warm vegetable soup in hand, I settled into a calm and comfortable routine while following the live Parliamentary proceedings... the combination of soothing food and thoughtful debates created a peaceful atmosphere - just the right balance of recovery, reflection, and simple comfort...

No Excuses

what excuse do we have for not performing our prayers? those with limitations still pray... those without legs still pray... even those who cannot move still pray... so why do those who are physically able continue to neglect their prayers? must we wait until our blessings are taken away before we begin to pray? it is true that the Al-Quran describes prayer as challenging, except for those who truly believe... and who are these fortunate ones? regardless of whether we are healthy or physically limited, if we have faith, we will find comfort and ease in performing our prayers...

Swollen Foot

it actually happened during UNITAR Cation games on the sand on the very 1st day, right before the dinner event... no matter what, our group performance still had to go on; that became one of the unforgettable memories with my colleagues from Team No. 3... eventually, I decided to get an X‑ray at Port Dickson Hospital... thank you, Amri and Aslan, for accompanying me there... Alhamdulillah, there were no fractures or cracks... for the next few days, I just need to rest my foot - too much movement lately... be positive; this is a test from Allah SWT and also a means to wipe away some of our past minor sins...

Holiday

Selangor is on holiday today... so the story goes: last night I started getting the flu - kept sneezing non‑stop, and my nose was running like crazy... the itchiness was unbearable... this morning, my body felt warm, and only then I realized that maybe this holiday is meant for me to rest... so I just stayed home and watched the Parliament live session, listening to the YBs presenting their arguments one after another... luckily I didn’t go to the stadium - my body had already hinted that it wasn’t feeling well... never mind, watching on TV is better anyway; can replay as much as I want... as for Vietnam making noise about playing against Malaysia, let them be... they don’t know yet that they’ll get eaten again - full 3–0...

Betel Leaves

I’ve received the cream from the doctor, and at the same time, I found out that betel leaves can also help... there are 2 methods:

  • lightly heat the leaf over a flame and apply it, or
  • blanch it in hot water and then place it on the affected area...

I chose the second method because it’s easier... Alhamdulillah, my home garden has plenty of betel leaves... so I’m giving this betel‑leaf technique a try - a kind of 2‑in‑1 treatment... truly, every illness has its cure...

Stye

I’ve got it... it started with itchiness and watering, and now it’s painful... I think I fall under the stye category - and it usually takes some time to heal... so what exactly is it? here’s the answer:

A stye is an inflammation of the eyelid caused by a bacterial infection - and no, it is not caused by peeking or spying on people... according to health references such as WebMD, there are 2 common types of stye:

  • Stye: a bacterial infection that begins at the eyelash follicle... it usually appears on the edge of the eyelid... if it develops inside the eyelid, it is called an internal hordeolum, caused by infection of the oil glands within the eyelid... this type is typically painful, but it usually heals quickly - often within a week...
  • Chalazion:  appears as a larger lump on the eyelid... unlike a stye, it is generally not painful... it forms when the oil glands become blocked, causing swelling... in some cases, a stye may eventually develop into a chalazion... it often lasts a month or longer before resolving...

people with a stye may experience watery eyes, itching, sensitivity, swelling or redness of the eyelid... a stye is not dangerous and not highly contagious, so there’s usually no need to panic...

UNITAR 6th Convocation

dear students, I am truly sorry that I didn’t get the chance to take a picture with all of you today (thankfully, I managed to snap one with the Bachelor of Food Catering Management students on my way back)... A Decade of Love and Togetherness

today marks 10 years of our marriage, and I pray, ya Allah, that You make us a couple who remains blessed and truly happy for all time... grant us a life filled with barakah, peace in our hearts, and harmony within our home... ya Allah, adorn our lives with lasting feelings of love, affection, tenderness, and longing that never fades... do not allow our hearts and souls to dry from love and compassion, for such emptiness would bring a burden far too heavy for us to bear...

Just a Test

don’t try to twist stories or bluff your way through - I accept things that make sense... but if someone starts going round in circles, I can tell... as for all that panicking and overreacting, that’s not my style at all... I stay calm and relaxed... my principle is simple: why are you rushing? where exactly are you trying to go? so don’t play around with me - I am not easily shaken...

On Time

preparing ourselves before the call to prayer and performing on time actually trains us to be disciplined. This practice - five times a day - can shape our daily habits: coming to work on time, attending meetings on time, completing tasks on time, waking up on time, eating on time, and so on... whenever we find ourselves delaying things, there is usually a root cause - often, it starts with delaying our prayers... only we truly know the level of our own discipline... so let’s make an effort to change - slowly but surely... start small (bit by bit), and over time it becomes a routine, then a habit, and eventually shapes us into disciplined servants of Allah SWT...
